Fri, 26 May 2006 ![]() This is Memorial Day weekend, the traditional start of the summer season. Despite the heat and humidity here in our nation's capital, summertime is this dj's favorite time of the year. In celebration of this auspicious season, DJDeedle presents a Deedlecast-length version of a full length album, entitled "Buena Vida," which some of you Deedle fans may remember from my days of mixing in cd format. No mashups here, just pure summertime relaxation and fun for your drive to the beach, or settling back with a nice glass of iced tea at home here in the city. As always, if you like the music you hear on Deedlecast, please support the artists by purchasing their music! If you'd like a copy of the full-length cd, "Buena Vida," please just send me an email! Fri, 19 May 2006 ![]() Whether you were around or not when John, Paul, George and Ringo were the Beatles (the band broke up in 1970), you probably know the unique sound of the Beatles. Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Beatles' sound is immediately identifiable, no matter what some heretic with a sequencer, or computer, or mixing board might do to it. This heretical collection of Beatles mashups represents the distillation of a huge number of mash works, including Deedle's very own "Come Tangerine Together." Comments[0] |

Despite DJDeedle's fascination with manipulation of music and sound through electronic means, nothing quite sounds like real musical instruments, strummed, bowed, plucked or played by human hands. Though this Deedlecast would probably not get you credit in your Music Appreciation (Baroque, Classical, and Romanic Eras) class, it is music DJDeedle hopes you'll appreciate as much as he does.

Remember the good old days? No. Of course you don't. No one does really. At the time, they were neither good, nor old. That's beside the point, though. No matter how bad those days were at the time, there sure was some great music. Through the miracle of time travel, DJDeedle is able to bring back some of what was actually good about the good old days.
